Doing the Right Thing
Like any business, we have a carbon footprint - or hoofprint in our case. We do however strive to minimise our impact on the environment in every way possible.
Our Vessels
Our jars and lids can be put into the recycling bin after use. They must be cleaned first so once your candle has burned right down, sit the container in some boiling water to melt any residual wax and then wipe clean with a paper towel. The wick tab should come loose when you wipe the jar out.
Our Labels
Due to our desire to keep things natural we do make compromises, our labels for example are paper rather than polyester and thus are not waterproof. We believe that our customers will embrace this compromise and enjoy using a product that utilises 100% recycled paper in the case of our signature collection and FSC certified paper from well managed forests in the case of our therapeutic collection.
Our Packaging
Less packaging means less waste, so we've kept things simple by not using presentation boxes for our candles and instead opting for stand-alone jars. We endeavour to use sustainable packaging when we send out customer orders but do at times reuse bubble wrap that we have received from suppliers.
Our General Practices
Minimising waste is a priority for us, for a number on reasons, and aside from buying in bulk to reduce the amount of packaging and couriers we utilise, we constantly orient our thinking to find new ways to achieve waste reduction. As our business grows we intend to implement green initiatives in the attempt to neutralise our environmental impact.
